SAC Student Leaders

Alex Ruiz is a Sophomore at SAC studying Anthropology. He loves the camaraderie and good works UMSM does for others in the community. When he's not at the SAC UM Student Center, you can find him metalling on his guitar or at his blacksmith shop called Volundr Forge in Adkins, Texas. He plans to continue his studies in archaeology and receive a PhD in this field.

Gerardo “Jerry” Martinez is a Sophomore at SAC studying Social Work. He loves dinosaurs calling them the majestic animals of the past and one day wishes Jurassic Park was an actual thing. A huge Star Wars nerd (RIP Plo Koon), he likes to contemplate the nature of the force and its relation to God. Yes, this is an actual thing that goes on in his head. For sure Jesus would be a light side user, though not a Jedi because of the politics. God would be the creator of the force and all its existence. Obviously, Satan would be the essence of the Dark side corrupting people. He loves the Wesley Campus Ministry because of the warm environment it provides for fellow students seeking to grow their faith in Christ. He enjoys the many works that Campus ministry does and provides for the students and community at large. When he is not at the Wesley, you can find him studying, watching movies (Especially Star Wars), hanging out with friends, or with family. He plans to continue his studies in Social Work and transfer to Texas State University and receive a Masters in this field.
