The Wesley Foundation of San Antonio (Formerly the United Methodist Campus Ministry SAUMCM) is an outreach of the Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church to students and faculty of colleges and universities in the area of San Antonio, Texas.
The Wesley S.A. first began on the campus of San Antonio College in 1957. The United Methodist Student Center located at the corner of Dewey and Belknap directly across from SAC campus has provided spiritual guidance and renewal to students and faculty for nearly 60 years.
The Wesley S.A. now has on-campus registered student organizations at San Antonio College (SAC), Trinity University, and The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). In addition to regularly scheduled campus events, we offer off-campus activities and partner with surrounding local churches and non-profits.
Office Manager: Brenda Meneses
Program Coordinator: J. Alex Ruiz
J. Alex Ruiz came to work for the Wesley in 2012 by way of a friend and has been part of the organization ever since. He has enjoyed being part of planning and taking part in our Hot Potato informative discussions, mission trips, retreats, worship band and much more. As an avid musician he works to help lead music during worship and mission trips. A life long student of archaeology and anthropology Alex has continued to pursue this line of study and now makes historical items as a professional blacksmith and bladesmith. He was featured on the History Channel Show "Forged in Fire" and brought home a win. When he's not at the Wesley he can be found in his shop "Volundr Forge" or working/teaching with other blacksmithing/bladesmithing organizations.
